It is indeed possible to extend factory-like full coverage but it will cost you a boat load of money and GM themselves might not even offer it.
If you insist on doing this, cover ONLY the engine and transmission and all related computer and electronics components. Have at least a $200 deductible. That brings the cost down a lot.
