You're probably right. Chevy did have a great inline, gas DOHC six available in the TrailBlazer in the early 2000's. It was an award winning design, efficient , made good HP/Torque and was durable. Our son had a 2008 Chevy Colorado with the 5 cylinder version of this engine, racked up a lot of miles with no complaints. But then GM dropped it .
The five cylinder really didn't work out all that well. The MPG, power and smoothness really didn't offer any gains over a 6 cylinder as I understand it. I never owned one but that is what I understand to be true.
