didn't ford go a portion of 2015 not shipping the new F150's?
It is hard to believe that, because Ford had tremendous last quarter deals on the F150 with over $10,000.00 off to move excess inventory. - FordloverExplorer

They shut down both factories for the changeover, albeit staggered. Model availability was low for a good chunk of 2015, which is said to have affected sales #'s.
It doesn't look like the GM midsize truck twins stole any significant sales from the Silverado/GMC full size. I seem to remember an article saying that ~50% of the midsize trucks GM sold are conquest customers (coming from another brand) so that is a big deal and a big win for GM. Wonder if Ford is kicking themselves yet... - alexleblancExplorerdidn't ford go a portion of 2015 not shipping the new F150's?
- WTP-GCExplorerYawn, who cares. Next report will favor Ford, then back to GM, then Ram will get a nudge...
Don't tell me who does the best when the vehicles are brand new. I want a report that details what the numbers look like for 5 year old truck in the 100K mile range. That would be something that's actually worthwhile to report on. They're all good when brand new. - colliehaulerExplorer III

I can see GM doing well with the new mid size trucks especially with the diesel version, Good job GM.
I agree that GM did very good with the full size truck sales, but not sure I agree with the midsize truck sales numbers as being very good. My concern with these trucks is that the profit margins are slim, but I suppose it helps the bottom line meeting the upcoming CAFE fuel economy requirements.
Dennis Dillon, Dave Smith, WalMart and Costco also operate on slim profit margins.
I bet they are in trouble too and about ready to go under. :B
Yes but they don't have to support R&D, Design Centers, Engineers, Unions/Union demands, training, Robotics and Mfg/Eng's, Factory's, EPA testing, CAFE regulations, Crash test standards, track defect trends, support continuous improvements, advance new technology, Mid life Redesign refresh, Cash reserves to cover recalls, Quality Department, Internal and supplier audits, OSHA, Internal Safety standards and audits, Lean Mfg, Kaizen's, 5S, Law Suits from everyone, etc....etc...
The auto manufactures carry a big liability on they're shoulder's and it requires big money to keep them afloat... GM and Chrysler know all about those don't they! :WTurtle n Peeps wrote:

Exactly. I'm happy with my GMC. - 45RicochetExplorerNo need for me to defend the Ram numbers compared to my current truck err grocery getter, numbers :W but I will anyway :B 2014 Ram had a outstanding year in sales for their brand.
It's pretty hard to repeat superbowl wins, just ask Pete Carroll or Russell Wilson.
