I saw the ad too. I like the way all the other truck owners are carrying their tailgates to the mountain.
Remember the big deal made about the step on the bumper? This is the little cut out in the bumper to be used as a step. I did not understand why stepping in a cut out was preferred over stepping on the bumper. Slippage? Blockage?
To me the GM tailgate is novel, but is not compelling as a solution to a need.
