I gotta launch the bs flag on this one. And I think TH 350s and 400s are good transmissions, for the record.
They are pretty stout. With good maintenance and the fact that the 6.2 diesel only puts out 130hp or so, and less that 300 ftlbs of torque, I could see it.
A turbo 400 will take a lot of abuse, and a 6.2 can't really dish much out. :D
The 6.2 went 180k with excellent maintenance commuting for construction in NW WA. Two valve springs broke so I dropped in a 6.5 already had the banks PowerPack. I should have just replaced all the valve springs! Tuned the pump to 6.5 specs. GM replaced 3 long blocks under warranty, cracked blocks.
Mileage on filter 53k (453k) on 2/14. A couple years more driving it puts it close to 500k.
