The K-30 4x4 SRW I had with a 6.2 (J series) with a turbo 400 tranny had 250K on it when I sold it, never an issue. That is far from 500K but never the less. I think the 6.2 with 700R4 was actually harder on the tranny due to not having enough power to maintain OD. I think that motor killed a lot of 700's prematurely. The 400 never had that issue. The 6.2 with the 400 tranny was a solid truck for me. It is the same combo that was put in a decades worth of military Hummers. Not much power, but they ran.
