Thanks for the reply Ben,
To be clear, I don't mind a large capable receiver being added to the SUV...especially if done properly a hitch like this can safely carry SUBSTANTIALLY more than the stock receiver.
Duraburb is not in the business of changing ratings, hence the reply to stick with 1000 lb tongue weight.
Basically, with custom mods the OEM is off the hook and the Owner/User has entered the custom zone with a modification like this. The user now is responsible to ensure the custom work is sound.
