Is there a problem driving with the TC from Gattlingburg tn to. The North Carolina side going over the smokey's Gaetan

Sometimes the mtn pass between Gatlinburg and Cherokee gets closed in the winter months due to bad weather (Heavy Snow and Icing etc)...
Going around the mtn pass is a very long route to take if Gatlinburg TN or Cherokee NC is your destination haha...
