6pac, all this advice is to be heeded...I am doing a solar inverter and 2 bats during my rebuild. I am making a list of needed items to do it right. Planning the wire runs, keep stuff close for shorter wire runs, correct sizing, still not set if it will be 6 or 12v batteries...there are advantags and disadvantages...loads of decisions to make all fun. Of course I have a genset as well if needed. I am thinking that I may install the invert and bats and wire for panels to be done later, since I have a genset to top them off...I just like the idea of being silent and enjoying the place I have stopped at.
