I would change out those 3.08's for 4.10's or 4.56's.
Wholly unnecessary.
Silverado 1500's with the 6-speed come with AT MOST a 3.73 axle.
The 6-speed makes the truck tow like it has one to two full gearing steps shorter. A 3.08 tows like it has at least a 3.42. A 3.73 tows like it has at least a 4.10.
Real world experience here. My daily driver is a 2015 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L and 3.08 axles. It tows a 4000lb SO much better than my old daily driver did, with 3.42 axles, almost as good as my dually. The old truck couldn't hold overdrive on the highway, and needed to drop into 2nd more often than I would like, while this one rarely shifts out of 5th.
335 lb-ft x 3.08 = 1032 lb-ft
335 lb-ft x 4.56 = 1528 lb-ft
That's an ~500 lb-ft and 150 percent increase in torque at the rear wheels.
