Good - Bye Friends

The new owners are picking up my Lance 1161 and GMC 3500 today. I'm sad because we have had great times with them, but now we don't use it much and I know that the new buyers will enjoy it. Thanks to everyone on this site who helped me with my many questions along the way.

  • blab3048 thanks I use the same reese class five hitch,I pin the extension at about 45".I wish I had bought the super hitch, but I think I'll be ok if my rear tires are up graded. What brand 12 ply tires are you running.I been looking at bfg commercial but they are 10 ply. thanks
  • I towed a 16 ft tandem axle trailer, all steel frame very heavy. used a 48" reese class v extension and a 1200 lb ,12000lb reese equalizer hitch. I have 12 ply rated tires and mu dualles never got closer than an inch apart.
  • Looks like a nice setup your letting go there.I have a question about the trailer in your photo. What is the length, approx weight, extension length, and while towing how close your rear duals are? I sometimes tow a 20'wells cargo behind my 2003 gmc with my alpenlite TC and my duals are to close for comfort. When the time comes for new tires I'll be looking for tires with the strongest side walls available. Thanks and good luck... gto66

I haven't been able to get out much this year myself due to royb seguestration... It would be very tough for me to give up anything that is already paid for... That would be a sad day here...

I will keep my OFF-ROAD POPUP setup around just because it has BATTERRIES and INVERTERS in it and will act as my emergency WAR wagon if needed... Has already helped us here at the house for two hurricane seasons that knocked out power for a couple of weeks at the time... I just run a couple of long extension cords from it to power up things that need to be powered up when the house power goes away...

We never miss a beat hehe... I did have a problem however finding a opened gas station for my 2kw generator last year tho haha... No power no gasoline pump it seems...

All of my goodies are all in line for the first kid that asks for it too I reckon...

I know you have said GOODBYE but I'm betting you will still be around for a long time... There will be something that comes up that only you have the right answer to help out someone asking...

  • Today would be a sad day for me . I would hate to part with my TC .
As you said, hopefully the new owner will enjoy it as much as you did . It does make sense , if you're not using it...why store it .

    Good luck, Bob n Dot
