Changed my oil a couple weeks ago and switched back to T-6 from T5 semi (1 oil change). If you are using T6 and have a failure, Ford has to prove it was due to (say) T6 and then Shell would have to prove otherwise. Kinda like saying WIX filters are no good and only OEM's are. If that's the case, WIX, Baldwin wouldn't be in business. Shell, WIX, Baldwin has to stand behind their products. Whose to say that Shell doesn't make Motorcraft oil or WIX makes Motorcraft filters? Not saying they do, but if they did does that make WIX & Shell bad products or just OEM trying to drum up sales for thier own "branded" items?
I bet it would be...... Ford says it's not Ford recommended oil So Ford won't honor the warranty...... You would have to prove it was oil that is recommended.....
A friend of mine went 30,000 miles on a new car motor without an oil change and ruined his motor. Chrysler said it was on him unless he could prove he had changed it regularly. He couldn't and he ate the cost of a new motor.
