Good Sam's or AAA

In your opinion which one is is a better deal Good Sam's or AAA for some that has a Truck Camper? I recently bought a new truck camper and am planning g to drive to Alaska this coming summer. I appreciate your advice!

  • I am happy with Good Sam. 4-5 requests for service never let me down.
Not as important to you but AAA is actually a bunch of regional clubs. Some of the clubs do not offer RV coverage. Most notably the New York club.
Make sure you read the booklet they send you. Seems to me that a lot of dissatisfied members expected things not provided by the contract
If you are someone who cannot wait for service you might not be happy anywhere.
  • Check several things:

How far will AAA tow it, I believe there's a limit on mileage where as GS will tow it however far needed to get it to a suitable repair facility.

Does AAA pay for the tow up front, or do you have to pay and they reimburse it? GS pays the tow company direct, nothing out of your pocket.

Will AAA pay to tow the truck with the TC on it?

I've used GS towing twice, both times with very good results. State Farm wouldn't tow my Class 6 tractor, even though it's insured with them, because they consider it a commercial truck. GS didn't question it at all.
