Good Tires @ a Good Price

I purchased a set (4) tires from Belle Tire They are 275/70/18 Michelin Discoverer LTX/ms All 4 installed out the door for 930.04 In addition when they are installed (Saturday) I will get a $70.00 Mail in rebate that will get me a pre-paid card. So about $860.00 net after rebate . If you are looking for Michelin's the next couple of days at Belle Tire may be the time. BTW I am in no way affiliated with any tire co. or store just passing this along for those that may be tire shopping.

That is a good buy however from my experience in Minnesota winters I am not a big fan of Those tires. Good mileage, but performed fair on the frozen lake. I have been running Cooper discoverer At3's with good results.

Had a set of A/T3's on our '10 Chevy 1500 and was very impressed with them!!! Chewed through everything when on snowmobile trips to Northern Mi and Northern Ontario.

Just cashed in on this deal for a set of the Discount Tire exclusive Cooper Discoverer ATP's (their own A/T3 version) for our HD. Hoping they perform as well as the 3's.

Hmm Ive been shopping for BFG AT TA KO 2, 1025 out the door from Discount, and a 70 rebat card, will now check with Belle.

quoted 963 from the website. wonder if I took that to Discount, would they match hehehe

only downside gotta buy this weekend, that's a tall order

Great tire except mine have around 25,000 miles on them and they're worn down enough, I plan to replace them before snowy weather sets in. No way they'd make 30K. Not again.

That's my plan, winter service only. I'll run the factory Firestone tires for the summertime.

My last truck had GY Wranglers, they only lasted 30000 miles.

Prices go up, useful life goes down :(

I don't want a super hard highway tire anyways, since I do like mild off road driving

Discount Tire (a.k.a. Americas Tire) has a $100 rebate card going through the weekend on "best tires". Just ordered my tires, will put them on when they get in stock.

I like giving the business to my local Discount Tire dealer. They have provided excellent service over the years.

    x2 on the service.

and another $60 for using the discount tire credit card.

Nice thing about discount is that they don't squabble about giving credit for the tire mileage warranty. My last set of Michelins had a 70K mileage warranty, truck went to our son, like my experience, tires were pretty well gone after 40K,

He got $70/tire warranty credit on new tires. Noticed that the new michelins no longer have a 70K mileage warranty, now it's 50K.

I've had 5 cases now where I received significant credit for not getting rated mileage on tires through Discount/America's tire. Cuts the cost of tires by around 30% or more. And when I wait for the sales like this one coming up saves even more.

the Michelin LTX in 245/75-16 LRE were 162 less 70 per tire for mileage credit so about $90/tire + 20 for mounting and balancing.

In his case, one tire had a big lag bolt, hence ruined tire, which was covered under the lifetime road hazard. so under $340 for new tires. And even though I bought the tires when I owned the truck, they transferred the warranty to him.

In another case on some very low profile 35 series tires I hit an exposed small water main cover that blew one tire, big egg in another in the middle of montana. Called discount, they didn't have a store nearby, and couldn't find a source for an exact replacment, gave me an option of overnighting tires for install on a monday, but I needed to leave on sunday. They said buy 2 new tires, bring in the receipt when you get back and we will cut you a check and replace the tires. No need to bring back the bad tires. They didn't even ask for a picture. They had appointment set up for me when I returned, and swapped the tires and cut me a check.
  • Tire prices for "good" tires are getting pretty silly. Has bought new/used off CRaigslist for years now, but just got a set of 275-65-20 Firechicken Deatination MTs for $760 shipped to my door. Another $100 for mount balance and $56 for unlimited siping. (They sipe em half way the first time and redo the bottom half of the tread again later for free.)
Under a grand All in for some super heavy tall lug siped tires.
    Amazon was my friend!

I'd recommend checking Amazon or Fleabay for what you want and get a quote from your local tire shop for install if you don't get in on special deals like posted above.

I got out for less than my last used set of Toyo mudders for some very good rated tires.
