Government shut down killing our vacation!!!!
Looks like our Shenendoah vacation might not happen ... We were headed to luray va to do the Skyline drive and then to Gettysburg!!!! Oh well

Well, Janet and I are on the road again... and will be for a month.... it's like starting over after 15 months.
As I said in my first post in this thread... go anyway, there is plenty to do.
Just ignore anything you can't change...

There are plenty of beautiful state parks open in the east... and almost all have vacancies for people that have to have hook ups. Look for boondocking sites that won't break laws.
We talked to federal park rangers and Forest rangers yesterday and the day before as we followed US-27 north... The visitor centors and offices were locked... the 4 pm rule was in effect.
Something for you to think about... Most rangers live in houses provided as part of their jobs.
Meaning... they be living behind the the locked gates... obseving trespassers and vandilism. As citizens and as bonded law officers they still have arrest powers.
I would suggest that no one breaks any laws... including trespass.
I think that many of you will do some fantastic trip reports... on places that we'd never considered before.
