Rookie plumber was on the line the day yours was built cause it is plumbed WRONG!
Grey dump line should be downstream of black tank dump valve (not upstream).
Simple solution....lot easy to 'adapt' then to redo.
Open the grey valve and let the grey tank equalize with the black tank until time to dump black.....then open black tank dump valve and drain both tanks.
Benefits.....
Soapy water goes into black tank......that's good
Grey tank capacity extended by putting some grey into black.....that's good
I have 3 tanks (Black, grey & galley)
All three dump into one main drain header
I installed another valve close to end of main drain line.
I keep it closed and then shuttle water from tank to tank by opening the different valves.......let tanks equalize so all tanks get full at same time.
Been doing it for 7 yrs. on current rig.
Did it on last rig for many years.
RV's used to only have one (1) waste holding tank.
