Boy when my linings were soaked with grease, I could not clean them up worth a dam.
No matter how much brake cleaner I applied, the shoes still were black and squealed like crazy.
Rather than take the next step of taking the linings out and soaking them (or replacing them) I just replaced the entire assemblies.
