I don't think there will be a problem. Base is mounted with 6 wood screws. When in transit, I'll drop the table to it's lowest position. By lowering it, any stress will be reduced, but the base is really quite solid. If I had to, the top is easily removable....just by loosening the pivot knob.
The OEM floor mounts and posts were very light aluminum...but I agree that two posts would handle any lateral forces better. If I end up having any problems such as the floor mount loosening or the table wobbling, I'd look to replace the table with a lighter material or use a different style table.
