It's because I learned a long time ago to sit back and let the money work for you. Take out a loan (it helps build credit) if you need to or are just starting out.
Invest in your retirement and always pay into your SS account, even if you're self employed.
When I actually do hit SS age, I won't have to depend on that broken system, but all the same - thank goodness it's there! Thanks Uncle Franklin!
