Grey & Black Tank replacement

Well I finally was able to move from that one park, but I moved to a different one that said full hook ups, water, trash, metered electric and of course sewer. When I pulled in I discovered there isn't a sewer connection, I thought WTH is going on here? I am in the campers site. To make a long story short, one of the managers son's uses a golf cart to pull a waste water container. its not that difficult to pull the value to release grey water, yet he pulled it so hard it cracked my tanks. I can't find a mobile repair because I am too far away, only 9 miles from another town, and I can't find a duel tank, both black/grey to replace it with. I contacted my insurance company who sent out an adjuster to look at what this dummy did, and yes there is a crack in the piping. I have spoken to several RV shops, and they are backed up with other RV's. And I can't find a duel tank like I have on my 04 Salem Forest River. Does anyone know where I can get one of these? Not even camping world has them. I am leaving this park next month, as I had paid first and last, In the tune of 1000.00 bucks just to get into this place. What a joke. Never been in a RV park that didn't have sewer hookups. This is sadly to say to funny in a sense. But not with grey water that has to be dumped every two days. Thanks a mill.

  • Here is a pix of what it looked like when we took the screws out and the whole tab just fell off from the hairline cracks in it that you 'could not see'.

Even though the cracks where real small around the tab a 'lot' of sewage was dripping and it was difficult to see just where it was coming from and one could think it was the tank.

BTW did you check wirh the CG owner? They always know of a mobile repair in the area.
  • I had the same thing happen after a honey wagon dragging owner dumped my tanks. I kept smelling sewer and when I went out to look there was sewage leaking.

    BUT

    It was NOT his fault.

Your valve assembly is attached to a square molding with four screws.

Check The tabs that stick out with screws.

Mine had ever small stress cracks around the where the screws attach.

When we went to replace it the tabs cracked right off!! We did have to cut into the line and replace the whole assembly but it sure was a lot less costly than replacing the tank.

Repair guy says he sees all lot these stress cracks. The whole sewer assembly is just hanging there and takes a lot of punch back and forth while driving.

I serious doubt that your 'tank' itself is cracked'.
  • many lakeside sites may require a honey wagon to dump. it is not that unusual. should have asked more thorough questions perhaps?

  • Can you post a picture of the damage to your drains? In fact, a few of them so we can see where the drains enter the tanks and the valve locations. It may be possible for us to walk you through the repair if the damage is not that severe (and I don't believe it is).

What was the response from the owners when you told them that their minion broke your tank drains?
  • Thanks for the info on the Plasti-Mend, I will look that up. :) And BC asked where is the park from hell? Its Black Mountain RV Park, Creston, CA. I dropped 6 buckets of grey water last night, and I am not some muscle bound female. But I am sure by the time I get some epoxies and fix it myself, or hire a plumber, I will be.. I went from a hell hole to the pit of hell this time. And I was greatly pissed off when I learned I had no sewer connections when I arrived here. I called ahead and asked how much for space rent and what was included. The manager said 500 a month, blah, blah, blah, and sewer. I did learn also he told me there would never be a sewer in the area I am in once he got my money. Pinhead. • Where is the park from hell?

I have had good results from 2 part epoxies for emergency repairs.
  • If is just the piping to the tanks, it wouldn't be necessary to replace the tanks. A good handyman or plumber should be able to replace a broken pipe and install a new valve without much trouble.

If I were closer, I'd mend up that drain situation for your ASAP. Good luck!
  • Until the tank can be replaced, perhaps it can be fixed well enough with Plasti-Mend from Amazon. I patched my black water tank after something poked a hole in it on the road. Made by a fellow RVer.
