Grind down Reese extension to 2"?
I bought a Reese 48" extension last year with the thought that I was going to upgrade to a class 5 hitch, well that has been more of a challenge than I expected trying to source a used ford class 5 hitch locally, I have been looking all winter and nothing has popped up within 75 miles and none of the local ford dealers have take offs or they won't sell them. I do not want an aftermarket hitch (I have torklifts).
Anyway, I am now looking at grinding down the Reese extension to fit my current ford 2" hitch, I wanted to see if anyone has done this before?
I am not towing anything, it will be for an aluminum fishing rack to put my coolers on and fishing rods, shouldn't be more than a couple hundred pounds loaded on the back of my camper.
