Grounding issues

Been awhile since I have been online, moved to a different RV park here in Central Ca. Problem, there appears to be a grounding issue, when ever I touch the outside of my rig I get sparks and zapped. I went and bought a 8 ft cooper pole, but not sure where to put it, seeing how the electric box is in concrete. I did notice when I touched the parks electrical box I got zapped. Should I unplug my electric line to the box and see if that stops the electrical activity? I noticed this happened when it rains. Any suggestions or advise?
Thanks, Susan, Mistyblue, Shana & Tommy the terror

  • Yep, Unplug until it gets fixed. refer and heater control boards don't like that.

They have a short somewhere in the system. could be at the weatherhead, a buried feeder. water/ corrosion at a splice. any where really.
  • Unplug trailer. You could die. Sounds like you have a "hot skin condition". Trailer is not grounded. Google "Trailer hot skin".
  • What everyone said, SOON. That is a dangerous situation.
  • Someone is going to get electrocuted with that existing condition in the system, especially when its wet. Tell the owner ASAP, and if he won't correct it call the county building dept./state electrical inspector and report the problem.
  • It sounds like your electrical system is not grounded through the pedestal and the pedestal is the fault of that. I would recommend you contact the park owner and have him remedy the potentially dangerous pedestal.
