The Colorado and Canyon are selling at similar rates they were back in 2012 so one could not necessarily say the segment is growing or taking any sales from the real trucks (full size). I always disliked going by percentages of previous years as it does not show a good view of the big picture. Also, a 10% increase of 100 is not the same as a 10% increase of 1000.
The Twins are roughly half the size of Tacoma sales that are increasing as well ,not at "similar rates", they were only introduced just recently into a stagnant and dying Midsize market.. This in a period of low fuel prices, quite incredible. People want choice that SUV's are not providing
