Always keep in mind when looking at sales ,the market itself must be considered.
eg. if sales are up 4% and the market has expanded 4% there is no reason to celebrate.
On the other hand if sales are up 4% in a market of 10% growth,thats very bad even though sales are up, you lost .
The auto market is up big time so all sales will be up especialy new offerings,SUV's are in every segment displacing the car ,they are new mini van. Luxury models of SUV are the hottest sellers with no end in sight the buyers of these vehicles are not effected as much by the gas .
