Noticed the chart below from Pickup Trucks.com, that the Midsize segment continues to expand, and that includes older models, not just the newly introduced "twins" vehicles?
Seeing fuel prices are low why are people buying more Midsize Pickups?
Looking at the same chart, I'm trying to wrap my head around how you came up with your statement. The Tacoma had a decent bump in sales percentage wise, but so did the full-size Silverado. The Silverado sold four times as many as the Tacoma. Adding up total numbers, full size truck sales were about 838,000 and midsize just 156,000. I think maybe you meant to say "Seeing fuel prices are low people are buying more full size pickups in the US, more than five times as many".
I know the "global" mid size trucks are great, the specs they have make me drool. But US midsizers IMO are pretty useless, they cost almost as much as full size pickups and use almost as much fuel, with tiny little beds that make them better passenger vehicles than anything.
