Ah No
Uhm...yes a wider and longer truck with the same height is more stable. What, now you are going to tell us that these global midsize trucks are magical and do not abide by the laws of physics? What's next? Are you going to tell us that each global midsize comes with a flux capacitor to take them back in time too?
if it has a tiny payload, or a small one not that stable at all or useful and this is a "full size" Pickup TruckI'm looking at buying the LARAMIE LIMITED, 3.0-LITER V6 ECODIESEL, CREW CAB, 6'4" BED, AUTO TRANSMISSION, 4X4 and 3.92 gears.
The only flaw I can find with this truck is that I can't even put 4 of my buddies in it and a little gear without exceeding it's puny 859lbs max payload.
I'm looking at going on a hiking trip and since the 4 of us each weigh about 200lbs plus add in some tents, food and other random gear we will exceed the the ridiculously low payload.
What gives, that's pathetic...
No, what is pathetic is you cherry picking data just to try to make it seem like your favorite truck is better. If you want to do that then how about I put one of these midsizers up against a 350/3500 dual rear wheel truck with a payload greater than 6,000 lbs. I won't do that because I know it is not fair and I don't cherry pick data just to prove my point because I don't need to resort to cherry picking. Now, lets get back to what I was talking about without the cherry picking.
What I meant by a bigger vehicle is more stable, is that if three trucks were of the same height and capabilities in their suspension(which would be a given) then the wider and longer truck would be more stable carrying a load. If you had a Nissan Navara with a track width of 61.8 inches, then it would be less stable mathematically than an 150/150 or 250/2500 truck with a 67.6 inch track width. Likewise, that 150/1500 or 250/2500 truck with its 67.6 inch track width would be less stable than a dual rear wheel 350/3500 truck with a track width of 74.7 inches. It is just physics and you cannot get around it.
Also, about you saying it is a pathetic payload. What does it matter if said person does not need that much? I do agree that it is low for anything made to tow, but what if the person who buys said vehicle just wants a truck for safety reasons and does need that high of a payload. What if they prefer to have a smoother ride versus higher payloads? What is it to you? What you are doing is applying your lifestyle and wants to someone else. Well, I am sorry to tell you this, but not everyone is the same. Not everyone needs 2,000 lbs payload just like you apparently don't need a truck that gets up to speed very quickly. The very same person with that Ram Ecodiesel can say the performance and towing numbers of "global trucks" is pathetic since his is better.
Lastly, why do you keep quoting the chassis cab numbers of the "global trucks" instead of the lower rated(and more apples to apples) pick up bed variants of these trucks. Take this chart of the Navara. Capacities chart. The standard pickup dual cab 4x4 RX trim has a payload of 1,884 lbs (855 kg) and a upper trim level ST version has a payload of 1,825 lbs (828 kg). That is a far cry from a tonne which is 2,204 lbs. Even the heavy payload ST-X version is only 2,094 lbs (950 kg) which is also not a tonne. Compare that to the regular (non HD payload packaged) 2015 F150 4x4 crew cab short bed 4x4s here that has a payload of 2,020 lbs for the 3.5L Ecoboost and 2,080 lbs for the 5.0L. Like I said those are regular non HD payload package trucks and the HD payload packages trucks add another 600 lbs of payload. So why did you use a Ram with the smallest payload earlier when it is known to be the half ton with the lowest payload? Are you just cherry picking so that you can say "mine is better" which is the reason why you start these threads in the first place?
