Gulfstream 19ERD

I am looking for Gulfstream 19ERD owners that can give pros and cons on the unit. Of particular interest is quality and durability as we do not want to give up either for smaller and lighter. Again, thanks in advance for all the great help we get on here.
  • Are there no owners out there willing to respond? Maybe it isn't a good unit.
  • You might look and see if there is a Gulf Stream owners forum on the web somewhere.

I like that floor plan and looked at one local. If I remember correctly there wasn't much cargo capacity with it, like only a few hundred pounds.

I liked how the bathroom door opened and closed off of the potty. When closed across the hallway it gives you a big bathroom area for a small trailer.

    19 ERD floor plan

Edited to add that the specs show a CCC of over 1200lbs. Shows how good my memory is.
  • I had a Gulf Stream Sport 22RB and it was a great little camper.
  • I have a 2010 Gulfstream Kingsport and it has been a great trailer. We had a problem initially with the cheap tires cracking. Gulfstream sent us $90 per tire (including the spare) under warranty and we were able to replace them with Maxxis. The only other issue we have had is the kitchen faucet broke. It is made out of plastic...I am sure it is a standard faucet that they use in RV trailers. We replaced it with a regular residential faucet from Lowes.

Other than that...it has been a great trailer. We have enjoyed it very much!
  • The model you're looking at is the Vista (was Visa) line. I have a 23BHD, but the layout is not discontinued. They added a couple more dual axle options though.

Quality and durability are very good considering everything is made to be light. Nothing is cheap per say. Gulfstream does as well a job as any other in the average...even above average list.

The single axle versions (19 footers) did have axle bending problems a couple years back. If you're buying new, you're fine. They had a spec axle in there that was very close to the actual weight of the unit, and IMO those with issued were also using a WDH, which added some weight to the trailer axle, not helping the problem. But again, they beefed up the axle a little and it has a higher spec now. Should be all clear.
  • I have a friend who had a Visa a few years back and he bent the axle. He ended up trading it in. I think this was a big problem on the single axle Visa trailers.
  • I've owned a 2012 Visa Erd, had it for 2 seasons. Liked it a lot, but it's only for 2 people... Ended up trading it for something bigger as we went seasonal. I did have tire issues, they were wearing out from the inside. If you have questions, fire away.
