GVWR question

I have a 1995 F-350 dually, door sticker says GVRW is 4500kg I'm not overloaded on axle weight but am on gross weight according to door sticker usually around 4750kg gross. My registration in Ontario lets me up my weight to 5000kg no increase in cost of truck license am I still considered overloaded at a scale does anyone have any info on this. I can go as high as 6000kg but for a heafty price tag and I don't need the extra weight, currently registered at 5000kg

  • Sounds like Ontario and California are so far reported states, where the owner has to declare weights he is going to carry and nobody looks at bogus door stickers anymore.
The difference seems to be that in California you have to declare GCVW and in Ontario GVW ?
Sad news is that other states like to follow California with their laws sooner or later.

To collect the correct tax for trucks rated to carry more weight.
  • Not over REGISTERED Weight and not over AXLE Ratings ---should be good to go

Otherwise WHY would they have 'higher' registered weights :H
  • Canadian cvse if they ever pull you over will look at the 3 numbers on your door tag. You are not allowed to be over any of the 3... Period.... Chances of it happening are slim to none....but that's another thread lol

The registration number itself doesn't mean much to them.
