GVWR

I'm looking at a 1 ton drw. What is the gross weight on the door sticker ? The new chevy's are at 13025lbs. Because I don't know the weight of the empty truck yet, can anyone tell me if an Arctic fox 990 will stay under the limit
  • You should be fine with any of the newer trucks especially if it is gas. My gas 2013 Ford CC Lariat DRW has a GVWR of 14,000 and the yellow sticker list the maximum payload as 6,220 lbs.
  • You'll be safe with a 990 with room to spare on a newer drw truck.

You will need to go get more accurate numbers off the exact truck you want but here is a generalization. The 990 will weigh around 3600 pounds dry with the mandatory package and then add water, battery and propane and some options and about 500 pounds of stuff. That would be around 4600 or more pounds. The empty truck will weigh approximately 7500-7700 pounds. I usually calculate the Torklift tie downs and the removed tailgate to be about a wash. Don't forget to add the weight of people, fuel, dogs, bicycles, kayaks, and if you tow a trailer.
