Hairline crack in low point water drain

When hooking my camper up to city water, I found a hairline crack in the low point drain. Without cutting it out and replacing the hard plastic pipe, I'm wondering if a "cold weld" product or other silicone sealant would hold under pressure? Anyone fix a problem such as this?
Thanks....
  • The pex could crack. There has been a HUGE ordeal in the SE states. Nibco/Durapex made a bad batch of pex, and issues are popping up everywhere.
  • I would suggest that you go to Home Depot or similar store and look up the repair tape that they have in the plumbing section. This tape is great for minor repairs on pipe of any type. You stretch it as you wrap and it makes its own bond to itself.
  • Its probably the valve itself. I can't see pex cracking. Whatever the case just cut it out and replace. Shark bite fittings make it a quick and simple fix. Why take a chance trying to seal it. Water is the death of a RV.
  • Due to chemical make up of PEX, very few adhesives will stick/stay stuck to it.

    Best to replace damaged section
