- mkirschNomad IISeriously? We're talking about a commercial porta potty not an open 5 gallon bucket, jefe... Not my cup of tea either, mind you, but not a rip-snorting case of sepsis either...
Too bad this wasn't around 7 years ago. It's exactly what I was looking for. My utility trailer has a full shower stall in the front, so all I needed was a place to sleep and I was set.
Now, of course, I keep getting "upgrade-itis." Looking at 8-9' long hard sides, but I can't because they won't fit under my 9' barn door. - jefe_4x4ExplorerRealter,
Porta-potty and dinette in the same place on a bumpy dirt road. That sounds like a marriage made in hell. Be sure to get your gamo globulin shots ahead of time. I would follow exhaust's advice and just fix up your oldie. Speaking of oldie, if you really are one I have a hunch you won't like the bare-bones EXC. It's for people under 30 yrs. old , fit as a fiddle, with unbelievable bladder control who just got out of boot camp with the Marines. I met this person at XPCamper a few weeks ago. He is a born world adventurer, operating on a shoestring and has developed along with XPCamper a minimalist box that looks vaguely like the EXC, only much more sleek. He has a place for a kayaks, skis, fishing gear, mountain climbing stuff, mountain bikes, etc.
jefe - Why don't you just put on another water pump. Your Norhstar Laredo is a whole lot better than what you're looking at. The filter that's attached to my water pump crapped out on me and started spewing water everywhere while I was on my trip so I just replaced it and it works fine now. It makes no sense to replace what you have now with a cheap and basic Hallmark EXC.
- realterExplorerSorry jefe,I was off 2 letters. When you reach my age......! I was hoping somebody here might have one. I do believe you can fit a porta potty onto the dinette seat base. Just be sure to close the back door. For whatever reason my water pump quit since winterizing last fall and I'm about to go back to car camping. Looking for some simple options. Thanks
- Check out the Hallmark website. They have used ones for sale.
But, do not buy the Cuchara listed, I want that one. Ya, dream on dude. - jefe_4x4Explorerrealter,
I searched and found no EVC Hallmark. I did find a Hallmark EXC model. It seems like a stripped, third world exploration box, not a domestic, all-comforts camper. After reading the article in TC mag. it seems to be a very basic pop up TC with addable amenities. It also seems that Hallmark has a very low output of its product and you better sign up for one immediately otherwise you will miss out. I like the Hallmark TC's in general and have heard nothing but good about them. It really depends on YOUR needs in a TC. As one traveling male, a head/toilet/bathroom of any kind is expendable, especially if you are way out in the sticks. Since they offer no toilet facility at all with this model, it would be immediately crossed off my list as there are two consenting adults, one of which needs that bathroom. If one of us has a terminal case of lavatoraphobia, this would not be a good option. You can add an outside shower though. And batteries. However, Hallmark keeps pushing the limit on its quality and offerings, so I would say (not as any kind of expert on these) buy one and give us a report back. @ $16K+ you don't have much to lose. I suspect if you got one, didn't like, sold it, you would easily get your money back. Looks like you would have to wait a while to get one with their small output.
