HappiJac 4600 Overhaul
Just finished greasing my second HappiJac in the rear of my Eagle Cap 1160. This latest that I did was not as bad as the left rear jack was. Had to replace that one because no matter how much grease I put on the screw I could not get it to run as good as the other three.
But this is not the reason for the post. I started having trouble with the right rear jack after our first trip out this season. I noticed that when I was loading the camper water was leaking out from the jack. After our third trip I could no longer lower the jack with my foot. I wound up taking the jack completely apart I figured the screw jack needed grease. Not the case, what has happened is that two of the washers that sandwich the flat bearings had turned to metal shavings. Luckily I kept all the parts from the other jack and it is now back on the camper. Have any of you experienced this problem with your jacks can you buy replacement parts or is the only option to purchase a new jack?
