The Happijacks will work fine. I had them on an 03 Dodge and carried the largest campers without any issues.
They are somewhat mounted to the frame with L brackets.
However, on my 15 Ram the bed and bumper didn't seem as strong as my 03.
On the newer trucks I would probably go with the Torquelift.
I understand your reasoning with keeping the truck, but I highly recommend getting the DRW, amazing difference in stability.
I'll bet your camper is over 4K lbs wet.
