My husband recently mentioned a small generator carried by Harbor Freight. It is around $125. His primary use would be to recharge his large battery in the trailer he uses for his RC airplanes. It is highly unlikely we would have many occasions to take it camping, but possible. Has anyone bought one of these? The price certainly is right for his RC use. Opinions? Pros? Cons? Santa needs to know.
"Opinions?"
total wast of money! Buy something that is not total junk on several levels and will last
"Pros?"
with the money that you can save by purchasing a harbor freight generator compared to the next level generator you could buy a crate of earplugs and hand them out to everyone within a 1/2 mile of your camp.
"Cons? "
I don't want to offend anyone that owns one or is seriously considering purchasing one of these.
I appreciate the fact that you have reached out for feedback on you future generator purchase. If it's not totally obvious I have a strong opinion regarding this subject, and have been criticized for it. That said there's a bunch of great options out there for you. Best advice I can give is buy the very best and quietest generator that you can afford. But please take the harbor freight generator off the list. Top on my list would be a Honda or a Yamaha but they are not cheap. Next on the list would be a Champion or a Ryobi. They are not as quite but not as expensive either. Also if it's for a rc and or a quick battery boost around a 1000 watt should suffice.
And good luck getting any of those down the chimney. .....he, he, he,
