Sears sells the same ''metal working tools'' that Harbor Freight sells, but Sears has a different color on them, different name and cost A LOT more, but they look just alike.

I believe your assessment of Sears but up to a point. What you see a lot of on the showroom floor may be similar to Harbor Freight items but Sears also sells Jet, Delta, Fein, and other brands that are above the league of typical HF tools.
About the HF generators: Since the price spread between the HF 2-cycle and a decent 4-cycle is $100, I would buy the 4-cycle like the Champion.
