Decision made...please don't those who disagree get grumpy. Going to do more homework via a visit to HF and to TSC. Both are nearby....in a town/very small city the size of Jackson, you don't have a zillion choices. Will look them both over, hope to find someone with a reasonable degree of knowledge on their specific unit, which is very possible here. Watch the sales like a hawk and jump.
Remember that this is 99% RC use and maybe a slim 1% camping use...maybe. Noise at an RC field is SOP, so nobody cares if there is a bit more. DH charges overnight at home, but there have been some long days when he's run a bit low. He's very cautious about charging since screwing that up usually involves a trip through the soy beans or cornfields and a pretty big rebuild. If which ever one I decide on turns out to be less than satisfactory, both of our local stores are customer oriented and should have no trouble getting it resolved.
Appreciate the input. My knowledge of a generator can be summed up in....run it about once a month and have it charging something at that time - DHs rules. Our pricey Honda from the boating days died a painful death because we just let it sit and didn't abide by "the rule". Many thanks for the help.
