I'm about to do the same and wire into the porch light. I'd rather drill a hole into the light box than the tt. I also ordered a light adapter so I don't have to cut the wires. Screws into the bulb receptacle and has 2 pigtail wires coming out. Found it all by searching Google and YouTube just can't find the link anymore to share. I'll look again when I have time.
