has anyone else experienced this?

My stabil load suspension bumps have disintegrated. I looked under the truck and noticed what looked like black shards of glass, but it turns out that the stabil load have literally crumbled! 2 totally, 2 with major cracks, and they're only about 2 years old. I've carried the AFll50 maybe 5 times during that period. Has anyone else ever had this happen? Here are some pics:

X2...looks like a bad batch of rubber or too much heat was used in manufacture....mine are 2 years old and look same as when installed.
  • Bad batch of rubber.
That's the problem with rubber and plastic, that you can't test its quality.
Driving Mercedes for long time, I had older models where 30 years old rubber pieces were holding well.
Than in 2000's with global economy - Mercedes subcontract parts manufacturing to former East Block, or even India.
So on newer cars rubber grommet and plastic holders were disintegrating after 3 years.
I come to the point when having 5 yo car, I was going to junk yard to salvage 20 years old grommets and put them in 5 yo car.

  • Did you use them in extreme cold?
I put hockey pucks on my truck and on year 3 they hold just fine.
