Due to all the restrictions, we have elected to purchase a few packages of the Gren blocks or enviroblocks which are the size of a red brick and made of compressed kiln dried sawdust. They burn really well and make a nice hot fire. We used some kindling (fat wood) to get it going and add 2-5 per night. They are clean and easy to stack. We do bring firewood and have a rack on the front of our truck, should we choose to put it there but only bring our wood when camping locally. I know it adds to the cost of camping but these bricks are pretty reasonably priced and do last a long time in the fire. We get ours at Tractor supply.
