Tow/Haul Mode?
What governs your use of tow/haul mode while towing? Does increasing horsepower reduce the need for using tow/haul mode?

T/H doesn't just aid in towing performance, it's better for your drivetrain, esp the trans.
I would use it anytime you tow. If there's any reduction in fuel efficiency, it's so minor it's meaningless.
X2. Tow down a mountain with TH engaged and you will learn the difference
Did this back when my boat still had surge brakes and burned them up. The hubs got so hot that it melted the grease out of the seals.

For the acronym impaired, what does TC stand for?
It looks like you are just down the road from me.

I have a 3rd Gen Dodge (just as the OP), I use T/H all the time, not just during towing. This is because the TC in our model trucks are so stinking loose. If I had a tighter aftermarket TC, l might not worry about it.

The 2006 Ram has two T/H modes. IIRC, one locks out 4th and the other allows it but changes shift strategies.
