Hauling Kayaks / Scooter

My first post, bear with me.

I have a 24' Class B Sprinter.

I am looking for info and pictures of ideas on how to haul two kayaks and one scooter. I also have SUP Boards and bicycles to haul sometimes as well.

Options: On top of roof. On a Hitch Rack. On a trailer.

Please help if you have some knowledge and experience with this.
Thanks

We have a paddle sport trailer from The Dock Doctors. It is all welded aluminum with stainless steel hardware, a composite deck and a Dexter axle with bearing buddies. We have our two 12’ solo canoes and 2 mountain bikes on it and I can unhook and move it around by hand. It is all American made right in Vermont.

this reminds me, I saw a neat Triton flat bed trailer that had the sides that would drop down and form ramps, both left and right sides. made of aluminum.

  • Idaho Tote or one of it's competitors would be ideal for the scooter. Maybe the kayaks too.
  • Yes, roof is very cluttered with the usual stuff. Not to mention the height (loading).

As is your choice, I am leaning towards a trailer.
I would like to not "reinvent the wheel", so pictures of trailer set-ups would be much appreciated. Even if the toys are different.

Yet another option is a trailered platform with 1-2 wheels that pivots (follows) with the RV. Downside is minimal square footage. And I assume a more moderate speed then my normal 70-80 mph.
  • I "assume" the van has a bunch of odds and ends on the roof making that a difficult location to carry kayaks. one scooter on the rear hitch. a trailer would be the easiest.
