My response was more to the point of scare tactics in the prior post. Short of extreme situations, there will be water at the destination.
It's not a huge MPG impact but why drag around the extra weight unless you have a reason. If you have a reason to run full, that's fine (and just feeling better about having an onboard supply is a fine excuse) but to imply you will die of thirst is just silly.
