Have you ever wished your truck was smaller?

I thought it might be fun to have a truck related thread to the have you wished your TC was smaller one. NOTE: I'm talking about trucks related to hauling your TC not that other trucks aren't real trucks.

In any case, for TC hauling, I started with a F350 SRW Supercab. That was great to go to work and fine hauling my 9 1/2 Host Double Slide. Now, I'm in the reverse state with a F450 CrewCab DRW. I'm still not crazy about the extra two tires from driving and parking perspective and the net of having the extra capacity and 1200 lb heavier truck. is that I get worse mileage which was expected.

Still, I don't wish my truck was smaller since I no longer have to drive it to work any more. The pluses outweigh the shortcomings for almost strictly TC duty.

How about you? Do you wish your truck was smaller?

  • I bought my 2003 Dodge Quad cab 3500 SRW just because that is the first year Dodge had a 3500 SRW truck, I love it. I don't like duallies because of the added width and the need for 6 tires. I bought a 2000 2500 extended cab SB Dodge of course, and regretted it almost right away, not enough truck
  • No way no how!
I've had undersized trucks and will make sure I never go there again.
  • My dually isn't a daily driver, so it's enormous width and length isn't an issue.

Other than getting my fender side swiped in a parking lot by a 60's Pot smoking (fill in the blank...) who afterwards claimed 'I made him do it' (while I was standing 100yrds away), a Negatory, Viva La Grande while you still can!

  • I definitely think there are advantages to being smaller and lighter and vise versa. I have a smaller apache camper that can fit in my f150, Its nice at times. There are places I could not get with my freightliner and larger camper. I like having both.
  • actually i'm thinking of converting a truck into a class 'c' r.v.
two wheel drive single tires in the back... convert it to a dually, then stretch the frame, install new heavier front and rear springs and then build the r.v. from there...
