I would have done that, however the damage was done to mine before I realized there was a problem. One day I also had some drips come from the crank inside the trailer, so in reality I actually had two leaks up there... one at the rubbing location and one at the base plate.
My Radio antenna is far away on the other side of the trailer, and I've got it locked into position at 30 degrees. It gets great reception and never touches the roof.
