Having fun finding parts....

I need a couple of coolant/heater hard lines, but having trouble finding them. Went to Dodge to find them and was told these lines are Cummins components so we can't get them. Called Cummins and was told that Cummins only supplies the engine, these hard lines are Dodge parts. Neither company has part numbers or listings for these 2 parts. I have looked at Mopar parts online and can't find either one on the exploded diagrams. Not sure how to get these parts from here.

Oh come on, you knew someone was going to say it.

I think someone has forgotten recent history...:p
  • Or at least ask the moron to spin the monitor around so that you can look them up for him. Demand a discount when you are done. FCA may have availability problems on warranty and recall parts but their parts catalogs are darn good.
  • Find a different Ram dealer whose parts department is not run by morons, who do not know how to use their equipment. Every part on that truck is in the database right down to every screw and clip.
  • Talking with my mechanic, and he figures to do just that, build our own. Also have 2 relatives that might be able to fab them. One is a welder that might be able use some stainless tubing and TIG weld the bracket needed. The other relative is involved with a steel fabrication company.

One of the steel lines is about 3" long and is threaded into the top of the cylinder head, the second line looks to be connected near the rear of the engine block, below the exhaust manifold. Both are steel lines, not molded rubber hoses.
  • Get some tubing and a bender?
If they’re just for coolant should be easy to cab if you can’t find them?
  • OP fill in your public profile and you may get better responses.

You think this is enough info? "I need a couple of coolant/heater hard lines" I could guess, are they the two lines that are attached to the engine that run the length of the head?

  • Much more info 0ver on a Dodge/Ram diesel website. A google shows lots of forums. (cummins forums.....turbodieselregister....dieseltruckresourse and more.
  • Go online to Rockauto.com.
I did a quick look and it appears they have the molded rigid lines. I looked at 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins
