CUMMINS/AISIN are a True Medium Duty combo. The parts around them are top notch also!
Now that's funny. Keep up the propaganda. There's a reason why Ram's resale value is lower than the other brands.
Don't think so. Comparing all three diesels. But if you have some proof please post it.
Projecting forward 3-5 years, the Ram will have less value because it's the most dated truck on the market. The Ford and GMs have recently been updated and those models will hold value better compared to a current Ram once the new model is introduced in 2019.
I'm also curious to know why there are more trucks on the road with over 200K miles from Ford and GM but not Dodge/Ram or whatever company they're called today? Chrysler has been in financial ruin numerous times for a reason. People don't trust their product. I've owned every brand and Chrysler is the only one to give me serious issues with multiple models. Unfortunately, my story is not an outlier.
Now to the original question. I'm not sure about the OPs local market but I've found all three brands very similar in price every time I've purchased except once. That one time was during Chrysler's 2009 bankruptcy when I found a cheap Ram 2500 with 0% financing and employee pricing plus additional rebates. However, that truck gave me plenty of issues and I wish I would have spent the extra coin on another brand.
Maybe current prices are due to timing with current rebates or maybe you haven't found a good GM/Ford dealer willing to deal. I do know FCA is hurting financially so maybe they're priced low for a reason.
By that same logic everyone that bought a new F250+ or GM2500+ in the past 2 years just lost tons of resale value on their trucks right? And those old Ram 5.9's have really tanked in value since the 6.7 update.
All trucks take a small hit in resale as new models are introduced, get used for a few years, and then finally hit the used market, but you're blowing it way out of proportion.
All of the HD trucks have good resale, you don't have to like it, but it is certainly true.
Just the first 2 good looking 10+ year old HD trucks I pulled up on Cars.com with 200k+
2007 F250 XLT 200k Miles $15k
2007 Ram 2500 SLT 220k Miles $16k
Both 10 years old with 200k miles and still looking clean/nice. Both asking 15-16k. Resell is literally almost the exact same.
As to there not being very many Rams with 200k+ on them, I don't even know how to respond to that.
As to finding a good Ford/GM dealer, you are most definitely correct. I only talked to a couple dealers and could not find one that would actually talk real numbers instead of their usual salesman games, but I know they are out there.
One thing to consider is what a truck is listed at and what it sells for can be 2 very different things. I highly doubt that Ford 6.0L will fetch $15k. I know it wouldn't even be close to that in Canadian funds in my area!
