We love ours and do see 2 other GMT900 3/4 tons running around our area (but never intheburbs). The economy and market for full sized SUVs in late 2000's was poor, so sales were down a lot, like 1/3 the sales compared to early 2000s. 2014 GM had 75% of the full sized SUV market and sold over 200k of them. Hopefullly they recognize the need for highher capability, especially given the 2015 Ecoboost Expy. A future model needs to have power levels of the 6.2L in the Denali/Escalade and most importantly receiver rating of 1400-1500 pounds!
Clues suggest the potential 2016 HD Suburban is fleet only and 5.3L only. Hopefully that is proven wrong.
I'd love a diesel 3/4 ton Burb. However, a 2015 version half ton with the equipment of my 2011 is already $10k higher than mine. A diesel would be $75k+ and out of my price range for the foreseeable future.
