what I did was to use a hole saw to cut a 1/2" dia hole in the side of the floor vent nearest the holding/fresh water tanks. running a cheap remote sense thermostat into the underbelly so far indicates that the underbelly stays about 10 degrees F cooler than the trailer when the heat is on. plenty warm to protect the tanks from freezing.
even that small hole will duct a noticeable amount of warm air into the underbelly. Think how much loose connections and/or other holes in ducting can do
