We have the Heki in our Northstar Arrow.
I am in the nay camp, I don't see any real use for it, just another hole in the roof that could leak sometime in the future. I did have to reseal ours by removing the whole assembly, it is a 2006.
Parts are too expensive for them, you can get the small insulated windows in the bunk area, just open one and turn on the Fantastic fan for good cross ventilation in those campers.
We have the 12 volt DC fridge, it is just the same as your house fridge except the compressor motor runs on 12 Volts..
Our model draws about 4 AMPS when it cycles ON.
As mentioned a good solar system should be installed, this will insure you can keep the fridge running if you are not a campground person.
When home just plug into your house circuit, the fridge will not know where the power is coming from, solar, house , etc.. it will just keep working. The house circuit will run the built in battery charger, the charger will charge the batteries and the fridge will run off the battery bank..
Have them put in a good power monitoring system if you are putting in solar, Trimetric etc... put the display readout on Battery current and sit there and watch the sun power your new compressor fridge, and other devices, watch it charge the battery ( one of my big thrills everyday)...better than a smoky campfire....
Battery Monitoring
It is really nice not to have to fuss around levelling the camper, just pull off the road and get in.
For House Batteries(if there is room) I would go with 2 12 volt Lifeline AGM's.
I think they put them in beside the water tank in that model.
Get them to order a new lip seal for the cassette.(spare)
The insulated windows are lovely in those campers. No problems with ours.
Have them put an inspection port (deck fitting) in your water tank under the cab over step, easy to clean and fill without a hose hook up.Dip water out etc..
No Hose Fill, clean it etc..
