Hello, Looking to get into a TT

Hi y'all,
I have been trying to plan a camping weekend. Initially I wanted to rent a TT but after I went to check it out, I was put off by the state of the trailer, it stunk. I mean it smelled bad. So later on that day I stopped by Dixie RV in Defuniack Springs, FL to take a look and ask some questions.

I am new to TT's or any kind of RV. My folks didn't have one, and neither did any of my friends growing up. I have never really been inside one until yesterday. So I have been doing a lot of research on line.

This is the TT I am liking and it seems to be marked well below it's MSRPKeystone Hideout 175LHS

Is anyone familiar with this TT or the keystone brand? I know I have seen that Name driving around.

There is a CW near me as well and Im sure I'll see what they have that is comparable.

I am liking the idea but honestly I think I might get a lot more use out of a sailboat.
  • Hey, welcome to the scrum.

So sorry the first rental you looked at smelled bad. They aren't supposed to, of course, so I wonder what was going on with that one. I'd highly recommend renting one (that doesn't smell bad) before even considering buying one. In fact, I'd urge you to rent several times before buying. Doing so it much cheaper than finding out you don't like it after you've purchased something, and it will surely educate you about features you might or might not find useful.

As for the Keystone brand, they do have a fairly good reputation.
  • Too bad about the stinky rental TT. Our rental was two years old and very clean, and they wanted it back that way.

Floor plan and storage are the most important features for my DW. So we ended up with a 25 ft. unit. Because of the way things are built into nooks and crannies it is hard to move things around if the floor plan is not right.
